Jay Zaveri plays the role of Ajay in Ishika Shahi's web series Jab Zodiacs Met, which has been produced by Rajan Shahi's Director’s Kut Production and streams on their official YouTube channel. The series went live on January 16, and the actor is seen in the second episode, which revolves around the zodiac sign Taurus. He feels astrology is something everyone talks about and found the concept quite interesting.
He said, "I honestly found the concept very interesting. The idea of 12 zodiac signs and 12 different stories makes the show feel fresh and relatable. Astrology is something everyone talks about, so it instantly connects with the audience."
Though he came on board the show very last minute, Ishika and her team explained the emotional journey of the scenes very clearly on the set, which really helped him. He added, "Once I understood the situation, the performance came naturally."
Asked if he found any similarities between his real and reel self, he said, "My character is emotionally strong and driven by conviction. In real life, I’m more about determination and resilience."
With the show revolving around Zodiacs, he emphasized that he understood that he had to play a person with certain traits. He said, "The biggest challenge is not to overthink it. So I focused on keeping the emotions real and honest."
When asked about destiny and cosmic connections, Jay explained that destiny may bring two people together, but relationships survive because of effort. "The universe may create the moment, but it’s the people who decide what happens next," he said.
And the series made him focus on the different aspects of a relationship. He said, "It reminded me that love alone is not enough. Timing, priorities, communication, and emotional understanding all play a big role."
If the stars could guide his next role, he would love to explore more negative shades. He said, "Grey, layered characters with depth. Psychological thrillers and intense dramas really excite me as an actor."
Talking about working with Ishika, he called it a wonderful working experience. "She’s very clear about her vision and very confident as a creator. Even though this was a last-minute opportunity for me, she and her team made everything smooth and comfortable," he said.
"People should definitely watch out for her work—she's doing some exciting stuff," Jay ended.
