Akshay Kumar was always known for giving 4 movies in a year with a remarkable box office collection. 2022 did not go well for Akshay. The box office failures of actor Akshay Kumar’s four 2022 theatrical releases, Ram Setu, Raksha Bandhan, Samrat Prithviraj, and Bachchhan Paandey, at least had strong starts. A similar cannot be said for the actor’s most recent movie, Selfiee. On its opening Friday, the movie performed worse than last week’s disaster, Shehzada, starring Kartik Aaryan. The Kartik Aaryan movie made Rs 6 crore on its opening day.
Selfiee, which also features Emraan Hashmi, only managed to bring in Rs 2.55 crore on its first day of ticket sales. According to industry watchdog Sacnilk, the movie’s overall occupancy was merely 9.95%. The amount is even less than what industry insiders had cautiously projected prior to the movie’s premiere. Filmmaker Girish Johar anticipated that the movie’s opening day take would range from around Rs 4- 5 crore. The last time a movie starring Akshay Kumar debuted with less than Rs 5 crore was in 2010. The first day of its release, his movie OMG Oh My God! Brought in Rs 4.25 crore.
Kangana Ranaut made fun of Karan Johar. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions produced the movie. Kangana posted the following on her Instagram story: “ Karan Johar’s ‘Selfiee’ hardly grossed 10 lakhs on its first day of release, yet I haven’t heard a press person Or single trader make fun of or humiliate him in the way they humiliated me.
Movie review.
Selfiee storyline.
Driving License, a Malayalam drama, was remade as Selfiee. It was a commercial success and featured actors Prithviraj Sukumaran as well as Suraj Venjaramoodu in the key parts.
Selfiee movie centers on superstar Vijay Kumar (Akshay Kumar) with one of his most devoted admirers, Om Prakash Aggarwal. Vijay travels to Bhopal for a movie set before visiting the RTO because the final scene requires him to have a new driver’s license. That brings him to Om, the only RTO Inspector in Bhopal.
An additional perspective involves a former Vijay co-star who is currently a nobody and appears in commercials for products like groin itch cream, among other things. In an effort to drag Vijay “down to my level,” he approaches a tarot card specialist (Kusha Kapila). Meghna Malik is being utilised illegally as a corporate who is looking for any opportunity to grab her fifteen minutes of popularity.
