Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the daughter of legendary actor Rajinikanth, who is currently shooting her forthcoming Tamil film Laal Salaam, has submitted a police report alleging that diamond and gold jewellery valued at 60 sovereigns has disappeared from her Chennai residence. She disclosed in her complaint that the jewels are worth 3.60 lakh rupees.
Aishwarya claimed in the FIR that she filed that she had hidden the jewellery in a safe and that some home staff members were aware of it. The Teynampet Police have opened an inquiry and filed a charge under Section 381 of the IPC.
Aishwarya filed complaint.
Aishwarya further said in her complaint that she carried the jewellery at her sister Soundarya’s 2019 wedding. The jewellery has been in a locker that has been in Aishwarya’s hands ever since the wedding.
The locker, however, has apparently been transferred several times over the past three years, first to her ex-husband Dhanush’s residence in 2021 and then to her apartment the following year. Last year, it was ultimately relocated to her father Rajinikanth’s apartment, while the keys to the vault remained in her flat.
According to Aishwarya, stolen items include diamond sets, vintage gold ornaments, Navaratnam sets, bracelets, and approximately 60 sovereigns of gold, totaling Rs3.60 lakh. In her complaint, she names her two housekeepers and driver as suspects.
Vishnu Vishal & Vikrant play the key parts in the movie, which is speculated to be about communism and cricket. Laal Salaam, which began filming earlier this month, will have a lengthy cameo from Rajinikanth. AR Rahman composed the score for the film. Rajinikanth accompanied him when he went to the Kadapa dargah before starting work on the project.
