A photo on the internet of Mumtaz with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Manisha Koirala has gone viral on social media. Rumours of Mumtaz performing SLB’s Heeramandi are resurfacing. “Am I performing Heeramandi?” “You’ll have to question Mr Bhansali about that,” Mumtaz laughs.
She confesses that she met SLB. “In fact, we had a pleasant encounter at his office. ” It’s too soon to say anything, wheteher if I’ll be doing his venture Heeramandi. Manisha Koirala uploaded a photo of us together, which sparked all of this suspicion. But, as I already stated, I cannot comment on this until Mr Bhansali officially announces.”
Mumtaz is ready to make a movie or a series. “But this will probably be my last on-screen appearance. I thus want it to be pleasurable for me as much as the audience.I am conscious of the enchantment that Mr Bhansali conjures with his heroines. Who wouldn’t like to be a part of his film?”
About Mumtaz acting career, she started her professional career at the age of 11 with Sone Ki Chidiya in 1958. After that she started performing in many other movies such as Stree in 1961, Sehra in 1963, Gehra Daag in 1963, Faulad in 1963, Daku Mangal Singh in 1966. Her professional turning point came with Raj Khosla’s family drama Do Raaste, after appreciated supporting roles in Ram Aur Shyam in 1967, Mere Hamdam Mere Dost in 1968, and Brahmachari in 1969.
On the work front, Sanjay Leela Bhansali who recently gave a huge hit Gangubai Kathiawadi. About him, he started his directorial debut in 1996 musical romance Khamoshi, for which he received a Filmfare Award for Best Film (Critics). He rose to notoriety in Hindi cinema with the immensely successful love triangle Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) and the historical romance Devdas (2002).
