The 2017 Malayalam blockbuster Angamaly Diaries, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, is being translated into Hindi at a rapid clip. The remake’s filmmaker, Madhumita, said in a statement that post-production development on the Hindi version is well underway and that it is nearing completion. The Hindi adaptation of Angamaly Diaries is supported by Abundantia Entertainment, the same production company that also co-financed the Hindi adaptation of Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru.
Vikram Malhotra is directing the Hindi version, which is being made under his Abundantia Entertainment banner and is situated in rural Goa. Arjun Das, a worldwide sensation, will make his Bollywood debut with this production. The movie also serves as the director’s Hindi cinematic debut.
The Lijo Jose Pellissery-helmed original film chronicles the life of Vincent Pepe, a brash young guy who becomes involved in crime after losing his anger and acting erratically during a fight with a competing business organisation.
The venture’s title has not yet been announced by the Hindi adaptation’s creators. Additionally, a launch date for the movie as well as other information on the cast and crew are anticipated to be made public shortly. The movie Angamaly Diaries is also being adapted in Telugu and Marathi.
Lijo Jose Pellissery, who helmed the original, is contributing as a creative consultant for the Bollywood remake. Anna Rajan, Kichu Tellus, Tito Wilson, Antony Varghese, Sarath, and Ullas Jose Chemban are among the actors who play crucial parts in the 2017 low-budget criminal drama. It also included 86 performers making their acting debuts. Gang fights in Kerala’s Angamaly are central to the storyline.
In a statement, the remake’s filmmaker, Madhumita, claims: “Because it is my version of Lijo Jose Pellissery’s movie, we are referring to it as an adaptation rather than a remake. I spent over three months learning about the history and culture of the area, which is located in the less-known rural area of Goa.”
