Rakul Preet Singh has now added a twist to this on-screen romance as the group will collaborate on their upcoming movie, officially named Meri Patni Ka Remake. According to these sources, Happy Bhag Jayegi director Mudassar Aziz is eager to create a funny comedy that would unite this group of performers who are working together for the first time. It’s interesting to note that prior to this project, both of the starring ladies were opposite Arjun. Rakul portrayed his romantic lead in Sardar Ka Grandson when The Lady Killer was already in production. It was previously reported that the humour in this movie will bring back memories of old Govinda jokes from the 1990s.
The movie, which Vashu Bhagnani is producing under the name Pooja Entertainment, is scheduled to begin production in September. On the other hand, it is claimed in these sources that the Akshay Kumar-Mudassar Aziz movie will begin production much later in 2023. The creators have not yet confirmed the remake of Meri Patni Ka or provided any other information.
About Bhumi Pednekar, she became well-known for her roles as brash small-town women in the comedies Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017), Bala (2019), Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017), and Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019). She got the 2019 Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for her depiction of the elderly sniper Chandro Tomar in Saand Ki Aankh. In the romantic comedy Dum Laga Ke Haisha, which was produced by Yash Raj Films and was helmed by Sharat Katariya, Pednekar made her acting debut as the obese wife of Ayushmann Khurrana’s role (2015) she put on about 12 kg of body weight in preparation.
