Deepika Padukone enjoys performing stunts on her own. Her athletic proclivity runs in her family. She had two back-to-back double roles in the films Chandni Chowk and Om Shanti Om while the actress was very young in her career. The actress had the chance to practise martial arts in China.
She did them with enthusiasm, and she was joined by Akshay Kumar. There were a few circumstances in this 2009 film that were considered excessively unsafe. However, the actress argued on getting rid of the body double as well as the wirings that were allowed to keep the stunts careful.
Chandni Chowk is a market in Chandni Chowk, Delhi Nikhil Advani, the director of To China, remembers, “We believed some of the situations were just too hazardous. However, she insisted on disposing of the body twofold just as the wirings. Her athletic proclivity runs in her family. Then there was Akshay Kumar, who was a source of inspiration for her. So much on-screen action had been done by Akshay Kumar. Deepika had never done something like this before. And she sailed right through it. She put in a lot of effort to achieve the stance and power in the action scenes.”
But nothing she performed in Chandni Chowk To China fitted her performance in Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiyaan. Peter Hein, who composed superstar Rajinikanth’s stunts in the Robot movie, also choreographed the actress Deepika’s almost 10-minute stunt in Kochadaiyaan. The actress has been craving to show off her athletic skills on TV ever since.
In Pathan, the actress finally got another opportunity to do her own stunts, ditching all body doubles and dropping into her own stunts. Meanwhile, Pathan, we will also see Shah Rukh Khan taking some risks.
Quite a long time ago, the entertainer told me, “I come from a family where interest in sports is normal. My more youthful sister is an expert golf player. We’re the sort of individuals who like to be outside. It’s a little glimpse of heaven for me to have the option to play out my tricks and stunts on TV.”
Deepika was last seen in Kabir Khan’s 83 as the wife of cricketer Kapil Dev.
