Iulia Vantur has been on a roll, releasing blockbuster songs one after the other. With Guru Randhawa, she discusses her music career, reconciling with Himesh Reshammiya, making her long-awaited Bollywood debut, and kicking off her worldwide film debut on an action-packed note, all while revelling in the popularity of her latest single ‘Main Chala’.
In your musical career, you’ve come a long way. Many of your movies from the recording studios have been shown to us. Are you working on a future project?
Many of the tracks we recorded over the last year have yet to be released. Thinking about it, over the years, I’ve been recording and recording, and many of the songs have been stuck in the studios. Now I feel like the door has opened and they can see the light of day for the first time. I’m intending to release a lot of songs, and maybe they’ll all do well and we’ll be able to film more music videos. So, yes! It’s something I’m looking forward to.
Are you experimenting with new categories or are these romantic singles?
All of the songs are pretty diverse. There will be a few romantic ones as well, as well as one exceptionally beautiful song with Arjun Kanungo, which I like. It hasn’t been officially announced yet.
Can we expect an album from you soon?
I haven’t given it much thought about it yet, but perhaps later? Allow me to continue to try different things. But, yeah, I’d be delighted to participate.
Your Bollywood debut has created quite a stir. Can you give us an estimate of when we’ll see you on the huge screen?
Initially, I planned to avoid acting in favour of concentrating on my music, but Prem Soni persuaded me to do so. It’s been a fascinating voyage, and I’m thoroughly enjoying myself. ‘Laila Majnu’ was the title of the film we shot. I play a foreigner in the film, which was shot in London. I liked the movie’s theme and thought my role was well-suited to me. The film is finished, so we’ll have to wait and see when they decide to launch it and reveal it to the rest of the world.
Is this the same action movie from which you posted recordings of yourself executing stunts?
Another assignment I filmed in London was this one. It’s a British production, and I thoroughly appreciated it. I am a big fan of action movies. I’d do it any time you said, “Come on, let’s make this action movie!” Action movies and action filmmaking are two of my favourite pastimes.
What does Iulia Vantur have planned for the future?
Definitely more tunes! I’m in the studios and practice rooms every day because I’m preparing for a music tour in the United States. Guru Randhawa, Kanika Kapoor, and I will visit ten different cities. I’m very much glad to be a part of it. I’m confident it’ll be a fantastic experience because I had such a good time with Mika Singh. That whole audience connection, seeing all those people singing and dancing along with you, is wonderful. I can’t even wait to do it all over again. I’m also filming a docuseries called ‘Beyond The Stars,’ as well as some music videos.
