Kangana Ranaut is noted for her outspokenness on a wide range of topics, particularly those relating to India. She is frequently in the news for her outrageous statements. While responding to a spoof video clip, the actress went to her Instagram account on Wednesday, labelling”idiot of a man” to Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker. Kangana was unaware that the tape had been modified until it was pointed out to her.
You may have seen the popular hashtag ‘#BycottQatarAirways’ on Twitter if you are a frequent social media user. Following the diplomatic fallout over two BJP politicians’ disrespectful statements about Prophet Muhammad, a Twitter user Vashudev posted a video clip urging Indians to abandon the airlines. Vashudev claims in the film that Qatar granted asylum to painter MF Hussain, who he claims “painted nude portraits of Hindu gods.” He encouraged Indians to ban all Qatari items as well as Qatar Airways.
Following the virality of Vashudev’s film, a Twitter user created a parody video by imitating an interview with Qatar Airway’s CEO with Al Jazeera. The clip is dubbed to make it appear as if Akbar Al Baker is really pleading with Vashudev to end his boycott.
“With an investment of 624.50, the largest stakeholder is our Vashudev. We do not even know how to function any more. All planes have been cancelled. The photoshopped footage makes the Qatar Airways CEO appear to declare, “Our activities are no longer functioning…”
While Twitterati circulated the dubbed clip while knowing it was a parody, Kangana Ranaut mistook it for the real thing and retaliated against those who laughed at it. “All these people who call themselves Indians who are celebrating this bully for trying to make fun of a poor man realise this is precisely why you are all a giant burden on this overpopulated nation,” she said on Instagram.
“This moron has no shame and guilt for abusing a poor person and insulting his pointlessness and status level in the world… Vasudev may be poor and is not that important in comparison to you, but he has the liberty to express his sadness, pain, and frustration in whichever context he sees fit… remember, there is a realm well beyond the realm where we are all similar…,” she said in the following anecdote.
