Kriti Sanon has ascended to the top of the Bollywood success ladder thanks to her film choices and performances. The actress’s path, however, has not been without its setbacks.
Kriti Sanon has five films coming out in 2022, which will be a busy year for her. The 31-year-old actress, who received excellent praise for her role in the film Mimi, recently opened up about her self-consciousness over her image. Kriti said in an interview with Bollywood Bubble that many people have chastised her for her “gummy smile” and “flared nostrils.”
Kriti claims she has been exposed to body shaming, citing one instance in which she was told to “pull her waist in a little more.” The actress responded to the criticism by stating that she will not change her physical characteristics and that she is “not a plastic doll.”
Kriti went on to remark that many people would unwittingly notice her smiling. The advent of social media and face-altering applications and filters, according to the 31-year-old actress, has exacerbated the pressure to appear faultless. She was even told to draw a line over her lips to make them appear larger. Kriti admitted that she has tried it before but didn’t like how it turned out.
Kriti went on to say that one should not take every minor criticism seriously and that she sees no reason to alter her appearance. In the same interview, Kriti stated that she had previously been urged to take minor roles in films since she “couldn’t get anything better.” She also mentioned how star kids have previously supplanted her in major film productions. “Yes, there have been numerous situations when I’ve given auditions for a film when they were seeking for a newcomer and they ended up casting a famous kid,” Kriti explained.
Meanwhile, Kriti has a slate of films in the works that she is really excited about. She will next be seen in Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush,’ in which she will co-star alongside Prabhas. Sunny Singh and Saif Ali Khan both star in the flick.
‘Bhediya,’ starring Varun Dhawan, ‘Bachchan Pandey,’ starring Akshay Kumar, and ‘Ganapath,’ starring Tiger Shroff, are among her other projects.
