Jing Liu and Ram Gopal Varma collaborated on the Hindi and Telugu movie Ladki: Enter The Girl Dragon. The movie, released today only, is billed as a love action drama. To put it simply, Ladki is a love triangle between a young lady who wants to be a martial artist, her lover, and herself. The movie is available in dubbed languages in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
The protagonist of the Indo-Chinese co-production Ladki: Dragon Girl, namely Jing Liu, Naresh T, Sridhar T, Ram Gopal Varma. This story revolves around a young woman who is a major Bruce Lee fan (the master of martial arts). The only difference between RGV’s movie and Lee’s 1976 action movie “Enter The Dragon” is that Pooja Bhalekar makes her acting debut as the Lee role. She is in excellent shape and is giving her all to the task at hand.
For a change, the action moments in RGV’s movie, which are done by a female artist for a change, are quite important. However, it doesn’t give much in the way of a tale. This 133-minute drama has several role reversals and is predictable from the get-go, with a courageous lead character protecting men from the bad people. A newbie named Pooja Bhalekar is seen boldly taking down the bad guys with her Taekwondo and Jeet Kune Do talents (two martial arts, one of which gained notoriety for Bruce Lee’s style). The combat sequences in the film are well-choreographed and usually shot in slow motion to increase their impact. On either hand, the skin-baring features in nearly all of the dancing moments, as well as the close-up images of Pooja’s body, detract from the seriousness of the story.
In order to wow the audience, Pooja Bhalekar can appear to be punching and kicking furiously while showing her muscles. She is intimidating and has unique movements that can compete with those of Tiger Shroff and Vidyut Jamwal, two of Bollywood’s most well-known action stars. Although she does not excel in emotional moments, she is perfect in all action scenes. A standout moment in the movie is the fight scene between Pooja and Chinese star Miya Muqi. As Pooja’s teacher, Tianlong Shi has more than enough opportunities to display his combat prowess. In the movie, Rajpal Yadav and Abhimanyu Singh portray minor parts.
Overall, this movie is a sincere homage to the legendary Bruce Lee, with its high kicks and battle scenes. However, “Ladki: Dragon Girl” only shines during the battles, leaving you worn out by the moment the countdown to the conclusion starts. How loudly are you willing to holler for shattered bones and broken necks? Even though Pooja Bhalekar, a novice, has some kicks, the film really doesn’t have anything exciting to offer.
