Actor and dark horse of Bollywood Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has given some of his career’s best performances from Liar’s Dice to Sacred Games on the Digital Platform is sceptical about the future of OTT platforms in India.
The Wasseypur fame actor recently revealed his sentiments regarding the way OTT platforms are used for personal gain by big producers in the industry. Nawazuddin is of the opinion that, OTT platforms have become a business agenda in today’s time and big production houses are using the OTT platforms as a money-making machine.
The actor further said that he does not feel that there is any newness in the contents that are being made now for digital platforms, when the OTT platforms initially came to India, the contents were unique and fresh and it was different from what we saw on the big screen. But, now the contents are just as same as what we see in theatres.
He also added that the content is being made in abundance for the digital platform but the quality of the content has decreased a lot, contents are utterly cliched and one can easily compare it to a television serial.
