After receiving a threatening message in early June, only days after vocalist Sidhu Moose Wala was shot and killed near Mansa, Punjab, entertainer Salman Khan sought for a weapons licence.
According to those with intimate knowledge of the situation, the actor visited the Mumbai Police headquarters today to speak with top policeman Vivek Phansalkar about obtaining a weapons licence. They claimed Salman Khan wants to purchase a rifle so he can defend himself and his family.
According to reports, he went to the police headquarters to get his physical verification in front of the licensing authorities, which is a requirement when applying for a weapons licence.
Early in June, only days after Sidhu Moose Wala was killed by associates of mobster Lawrence Bishnoi, who had also threatened the actor in 2018, Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan got a threat letter.
Salman Khan received a death threat from Lawrence Bishnoi in connection with the 1998 black buck poaching case, which included the actor as one of the defendants. The actor’s dad had discovered the unsigned note on a bench where he regularly rests after his morning exercise. Lawrence Bishnoi, who had been serving his time in Delhi’s Tihar prison is being held by the Punjab Police as part of the inquiry into the killing of Sidhu Moose Wala.
