The International Indian Film Academy and Awards (IIFA), the most prestigious festival of Indian film, will have its 22nd version on May 20th and 21st, 2022, in Abu Dhabi, Yas Island. This year’s presenter, Salman Khan, and entertainer Varun Dhawan, as well as Ananya Panday, His Excellency Saeed Al Fazari, Strategic Affairs Executive Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, Miral’s CEO Mr. Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, and other dignitaries, held a press conference in Mumbai yesterday to make an official announcement.
The event will be held at Etihad Arena, area of Yas Bay Waterfront on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, the Middle East’s largest state-of-the-art indoor entertainment venue, in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Miral, Abu Dhabi’s going to lead maker of immersive destinations and memories.
I’ve always liked being a member of the IIFA Community and travelling to some fantastic locations, but this year we’re going to one of my personal favourites, Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, Salman Khan remarked. Over the previous 21 years, the IIFA has provided not just an international platform for Indian cinema, but also a tremendous chance to bring us closer to our fans and link millions of people around the world. As we unify the world through cinema and celebration, I am excited and happy to present the 2022 IIFA Weekend & Awards at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
IIFA Awards have offered me some extremely memorable experiences of my life, Varun Dhawan stated. The IIFA trophy, as well as participation in the festivities, is unique. This edition will take us to Abu Dhabi, which is one of my favourite destinations, and I am hoping to meet new people and have a good time.
