Jersey release date postponed
The release date of Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming new movie ‘Jersey‘ has been deferred due to growing concerns about the spread of Omicron cases. The sports drama, a remake of the Telugu drama of the same name starring Nani, was scheduled to be released on December 31. The creators have decided to postpone the release date of the movie for the time being, and a new date will be announced later. According to reports, this decision was made due to the country’s rising Omicron scare.
This sports drama is directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, is a remake of a Telugu drama of the exact name. Shahid had put a lot of effort and time on the field to perfect his role as a cricketer. In an interview with sources, Shahid said about the movie that “he loves to watch cricket as he is a huge cricket fan.” You will never be as good as an experienced cricketer playing in an international category. The goal was simply to imbue his character with the personality of a cricketer. The story of ‘Jersey‘ is told with great emotions and sentiments. That is why people want to see this movie; otherwise, they want to see a match. The movie is an in-depth play that provides insight into what goes on inside a sportsperson.
While the makers of the movie have yet to decide on a new launch date for the movie, rumours of an OTT release cannot be ruled out. ‘Jersey’s‘ creators are said to be in talks with an OTT platform about a direct digital release. While movie theaters in Delhi were asked to close on Tuesday, Maharashtra is also operating at 50% capacity. To combat the rise in COVID-19 cases, the Delhi government ordered the closure of cinema halls, theatres, and multiplexes. This comes after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Tuesday that the national capital would be placed on yellow alert.
