Shershaah becomes most-watched
Shershaah, a war drama, which stars Sidharth Malhotra as male lead and Kiara Advani as female lead quickly became a fans favourite earlier this year when it was directly released on OTT platform (Amazon Prime Video) in September 2021. Amid the pandemic and with many cinemas still closed in the country at the time, Dharma Productions answered the call for a direct-to-digital release, and audiences were ecstatic to see the story of Captain Vikram Batra.
The movie portrayed the inspiring life and courageous charm of PVC Captain Vikram Batra, who was martyred while battling for his nation in Kargil’s treacherous terrains. The movie was watched in 210 nations and territories and over 4100 Indian towns and cities around the world, as per Amazon Prime Video. It also became the most popular Hindi film, with an IMDB rating of 8.9. The movie did extremely well on the digital platform and was praised for its great plot.
The dazzling music albums from the war drama were also a hit with the audience. With soul-stirring songs like ‘Ranjha’, ‘Mann Bharryaa 2, and ‘Raataan Lambiyaan they were tremendously loved and appreciated to the point where the album’s streaming numbers surpassed one billion.
