Since Karan Johar made the official declaration about making a film about C. Sankaran Nair, fans have been waiting for the cast to be revealed. Various names are circulating, despite the fact that no formal verification has been received.
This film, directed by debutant Karan Tyagi, is based on the untold and legendary story of lawyer C. Sankaran Nair, who was a pivotal figure during British rule in India. According to rumours and speculation Akshay Kumar and Annanya Panday will be the lead for this film. Akshay Kumar might represent the late lawyer activist in this courtroom drama, and if rumours are to be believed, Ananya Panday will also have a prominent role in the film.
According to sources, the film will be entirely predicated on Raghu and Pushpa Palat’s book The Case That Shook the Empire, and would depict a lawyer’s battle against the British Raj to expose Punjab Lieutenant Governor Michael O’Dwyer’s complicity in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Nair was a part of the Viceroy’s Executive Council in 1915, but following the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919, he resigned. An insider and a close member of the project revealed that Annanya could play the role of fierce junior lawyer. However she has not yet confirmed being the part of the project. The shooting will begin when Akshay gets done with his part Sorrai Potturu. If all goes well and rumours get true, Akshay and Annanya will be seen together for the first time on big screens.
Akshay had recently appeared as lead in the epic historical movie Samrat Prithviraj along with Manushi Chillar. Karan Johar is currently busy in the making of Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani and is gearing up for the release of Jug Jugg Jeeyo. Annanya Panday has recently been seen in Gehraiyaan.
