The forthcoming Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) is scheduled to screen the actor Manoj Bajpayee-starring movie Joram, the producers said on Tuesday.
The Intense psychological thriller, which was helmed by Devashish Makhija, centres on a dad who has fled his home in order to defend his daughter. The movie, which is set in Jharkhand, addresses problems like socioeconomic injustice, mistreatment of tribal groups, and deforestation.
Joram will now be screened in the ‘in competition’ section at DIFF in July and at the Sydney Film Festival the following week. Joram had previously went to the 52nd International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) as well as was a part of the NFDC’s Film Bazaar.
Manoj Bajpayee expressed his gratitude for all the support and acclaim that Joram is receiving in foreign film festivals.
“Joram is a very remarkable movie, and I am just awestruck by all the adoration that it is receiving on a global scale. Zed Studios was the best partner for the project, and Devashish did a great job. In a statement, the actor stated, “Am thrilled that the movie is now headed to the Durban International Film Festival.
Makhija praised Bajpayee and the Joram actors for their powerful acting in the movie.
“Manoj Bajpayee’s performance guarantees knots in the chest, as do the other cast members’ potent performances. We are overjoyed by the praise this movie is receiving on a global scale and are really pleased to be screened in concurrence at the Durban International Film Festival, the director stated.
