Maja Ma is a classic Bollywood blockbuster with a heartwarming tale that is set against the joyful background of a customary festivity and a vibrant, vibrant marriage. The movie serves us with a glance into the lifestyle of Pallavi (played by Madhuri Dixit), a charming woman who serves as the centre of gravity for her middle-class family and the community she lives in. A life she has constructed with so much love begins to come apart as a sequence of events take place, putting her son’s impending wedding in peril. Well something really different but connectable with the audience. A true family drama which is a sort of entertainer as well as a message sender to many.
The storyline is really attractive and is a must watch film. Two lesbian partners who came out to their families after 30 years of marriage are the subject of a narrative by author Sumit Batheja and filmmaker Anand Tiwari. The pair creates a solid storyline that seems incredibly approachable and pleasant on the emotions without employing any innuendos or below-the-belt quips and humour. The conversations are pertinent, not overly dramatic, and not binary. Pallavi’s unexpected discovery, along with other characters’ personal struggles, are handled sensitively and with care in the movie. Madhuri Dixit as always has nailed her persona and seeing her back on screen has given a different vibes to not only her fans but also to industry mates.
Keeping all the factors in mind the film definately is slated to have a 3 out of 5 stars rating.
