A lawsuit has been filed against a music company for selling songs without the permission of the lyricist.The song was sold to K V Dhillon, the owner of MP3 Music, who later utilised it in a film. Lyricist, Music Director, Producer in Punjabi Music Industry Simran Goraya aka Mr Wow has filed a FIR against the founders of a music studio for selling his song to another organisation without his permission, resulting in it being used in a Punjabi film.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, a tenant of Mohali, Simran Goraya who had already filed a complaint against the accused in the police station on December 6, 2021. As per his lawsuit, the accused Anil and Yatin Jain of the Vardhman Music Company, approached him to sell one of his songs, “Shoot Da Order,” promising him a 50% cut of the profits.

However, the complainant claims that the accused sold the song to KV Dhillon, the proprietor of MP3 Music Company, who then utilised it in a film without his permission.

The defendants have been charged under sections 420 (cheating), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and sections 52 A and 68A of the Copyright Act, according to Sub Inspector Gursewak Singh, the investigating Officer. The lawsuit has been filed against the accused person at the Division number 5 police station.
