“Except for a headache and weakness, I felt OK. I even snuck out of my hospital room for a drink with Emraan Hashmi and other celebrities. However, because no medication was helping, my situation began to rapidly deteriorate “He went on to say that his internal organs were leaking blood and that several individuals had come to donate blood.
Basu was transported to Tata Hospital after being hospitalised at Lilavati Hospital. Sunil Dutt was the one who procured the bed at Tata Hospital. As soon as I reached the hospital i was kept on ventilator. I consider myself fortunate to be a member of the movie industry because I was immediately given a bed and therapy. A regular person would have difficulty… Anyone who had seen me on television seemed to be doing everything they could to save me, sending letters and requesting blood. I don’t even know who all have donated blood to me and helped me to survive” he said. Basu further revealed that he had to keep on working because he needed money for the treatment and hence he shot Gangster while he was having his chemo and treatment.
