Daughter of film director, writer and producer Priyadarshan Soman, Kalyani Priyadarshan who has already proved her mark in the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam film industry is all set to make her Bollywood debut, but this movie will not be under her father’s umbrella.
Seems like Kalyani has decided to walk on the paths of the leading lady of Bollywood and daughter of Mahesh Bhatt, Alia Bhatt.
Alia Bhatt made her Bollywood debut, not with one of his father’s films but from Student Of The Year which was produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Production. Similarly, Kalyani is also determined to make her Bollywood debut without her father’s help. The actress has no plan of letting Priyadarshan launch her with one of his movies. As revealed by many sources; Kalyani’s father Priyadarshan had a lot to say about this strong-willed decision of her daughter. He is extremely proud of how strong-headed Kalyani is and he loves the fact that her daughter wants to make a name for her without her father’s help.
A film director who has been a part of the entertainment industry for decades and has directed over 95 movies could have easily made one movie for her daughter but seeing Kalyani turning into an independent woman is what Priyadarshan has always wished for as a father.
According to Priyadarshan, one thing that Kalyani was always adamant about was that, if she ever becomes a part of this industry it will not begin with one of his films.
