On Friday afternoon in New Delhi, the 68th National Award winners were revealed. The Directorate of Film Festivals of the Indian Government oversees the major awards. Due to the latency brought on by the Covid-19 outbreak, 2020 movies were also honoured this year.The awards were physically given out after the outbreak. A 10-member panel, chaired by director Vipul Shah, presented the 68th National Film Accolades report to Knowledge and Communication Minister Anurag Thakur earlier today. In addition to these individuals, the jury also includes A Karthikraaja, VN Aditya, Viji Thampi, Sanjeev Rattan, S Thangadurai, and Nishigandha, a Bengali performer who has won a National Award.
Many awards and recognition were presented. The criterion and the rewards had many categories and many presenter. Best Feature Movie was presented to Soorarai Pottru ,Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of Director was bagged by Mandela ,Best Children’s Film was bagged by Sumi, Best Actor went to Suriya for Soorarai Pottru and Ajay Devgn for Tanhaji ,Best Actress was presented to Aparna Balamurali ,Best Supporting Actor was given to Biju Menon. Best Director was bagged by Sachidanandan KR, Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment was given to Tanhaji, Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of Director: Mandela, Best Supporting Actress was given to Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli, Best Child Artist was bagged by Anish Mangesh Gosavi for Tak Tak and Akanksha Pingle & Divyesh Indulkar for Sumi, Best Music Direction was bagged by Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Several other awards were also given for many criterion like Best Choreography was given to Natyam, Best Production Design Kappela, Best Audiograoher Dollu etc.
The award function which was hosted after the outbreak of Covid 19 was succesful and was embraced by many renowned faces. The show was embraced a lot and the recognition and honours were presented not only to featured films, but also non featured films and films of different language.
