Justin Bieber will perform in India on October 18 as part of his ongoing Justice international tour, it was confirmed today. The performance will take place at New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, and is co-produced by AEG Presents and Indian entertainment ticketing company BookMyShow. That performance was one of the most attended by a foreign artist in India. This will be the first international act to perform in a stadium since the outbreak, and the first since U2 wrapped up The Joshua Tree tour in Mumbai in December 2019. At the performance, which was presented by BookMyShow and Live Nation, the Irish rockers performed in front of almost 40,000 spectators. For Bieber’s tour to India, BookMyShow will sell approximately 43,000 tickets. The show is expected to sell out based on his streaming ratings in the country. Last year, Bieber was the most popular non-Indian musician on Apple Music India, as well as local platforms Gaana and JioSaavn. He was only second to K-Pop sensations BTS on Spotify.
Despite India’s huge adoption of foreign music, the country’s lack of large arenas has restricted several of the world’s biggest stars from performing there. “I’ve never understood why you guys can construct studios and Bollywood and everything else but there aren’t enough amazing venues,” Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun stated in a keynote interview at the All About Music conference in India in September 2021. It’s difficult to effectively tour a global superstar who, as evidenced by streaming, demands to be there a lot more. Every time we visit, the equipment is not properly set up.”Pre-sale reservations for Bieber’s New Delhi show have reopened on BookMyShow, with tickets beginning at 4,000 rupees (about $50).
The last instance when the Indian Beliebers saw Justin play live in India was at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium was in 2007.When the pop sensation last performed in India, the majority of his fans were disappointed. After seeing the Bieber concert, even Bollywood stars Sonali Bendre and Bipasha Basu conveyed their disappointment on social networks. He also cancelled his plan to visit the Taj Mahal and Rajasthan after the performance and flew out of India immediatel
