Srijit Mukherji’s upcoming film, Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga, unveiled its first trailer online on Friday morning. Pankaj Tripathi, Neeraj Kabi, and Sayani Gupta play the key roles in the film. The clip depicts a plain man who is forced to fight both wild animals and administrative malfeasance at the same time.
The trailer depicts Gangaram’s narrative (played by Pankaj). Gangaram joins the infamous tiger practise and wishes to give up his life so that the families of his village might benefit from the government scheme promised to assist tiger attack victims’ families. When he reaches the woodland to await his doom, he discovers Jim (essayed by Neeraj Kabi, who is a poacher).The film, which is said to be based on true occurrences, explores the negative impacts of urbanisation, man-animal strife, and how poverty can lead to strange habits, pushing humanity to the verge of extinction.

I instantly composed the narrative and registered it after reading about the real-life happenings in 2017, and I had been wanting to make it for a long time. So, after 5 years, the dream has finally come true, and we bring you Gangaram’s narrative on the big screen.“Gulshan Kumar, T-Series Film, and Reliance Entertainment present Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga, which is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Reliance Entertainment and production is done by Match Cut Productions Private Limited. On June 24, it will be released in theatres.Srijit’s second Hindi film, Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga, follows the 2017 historical drama Begum Jaan, which starred Vidya Balan as a brothel proprietor. The filmmaker has previously stated in interviews with the media that a true event of “tragic practises” in communities around the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve prompted him to develop Sherdil The Pilibhit Saga.
