Actor Sonali Bendre has spoken out about OTT platforms, claiming that they have given actors a “second innings.” In a new interview, she also stated that people in the movie industry can no longer have a casual attitude due to OTT platforms. She also talked about her co-star Aamir Khan and her flick Sarfarosh. She further stated that when filming Sarfarosh, she’missed the opportunity’ to learn from Aamir.John Matthew Matthan wrote, produced, and directed the action drama Sarfarosh (1999). Naseeruddin Shah, Aamir Khan, Sonali Bendre, and Mukesh Rishi were among the cast members. The film was nominated for a National Film Award and the Filmfare Critics Award, as well as being screened at the India International Film Festival.

Sonali said in her recent interview said “I’d like to be working right now. It’s a lot of fun for me. I’m no longer an unintentional actor. This is something I’ve decided to do. I’m no longer excused if I don’t get it correctly. I had a good time doing Sarfarosh with Aamir. During Sarfarosh, I missed the chance to deliberately learn from him.”She also mentioned, “We would not have had a second innings if OTT platforms had not arrived. That “chalta hai” (casually stating everything’s fine) attitude can no longer be sustained, and I believe it is the best thing that has occurred to our industry.” Sonali also discussed her battle with cancer. ‘Having a scar, losing my hair,’ she explained, taught her and made her recognise that ‘beauty is never flawless.’
With The Broken News, Sonali is set to make her OTT debut. She will take on the character of Awaaz Bharati journalist Amina Qureshi. Sonali will be joined by Jaideep Ahlawat and Shriya Pilgaonkar on the show.The series depicts the rivalry between two Mumbai-based news channels: Awaaz Bharati, an autonomous, moral news channel, and Josh 24/7 News, which specialises in sensationalist and intrusive reporting. The Broken News, directed by Vinay Waikul, is set to premiere on Zee5.
