Vibhu Puri, who was set to helm the majority of the episodes of Heeramandi, Netflix’s most lavish Indian series to date, has dropped out of the project.According to reliable sources, while Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who produces the Netflix series, will helm the first episode, Mitakshara Kumar, who worked with Bhansali on Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, will direct the remaining six episodes of this infinite series.For producer Nikhil Advani, Mitakshara also directed The Empire, a series on the Mughal dynasty. She succeeds Vibhu Puri as director of Heeramandi, who was previously tapped to helm six of the seven episodes.
