Anushka Sharma hasn’t been on the big screen since her last film Zero, but she hasn’t stopped creating material for digital platforms. Clean Slate Filmz, founded by Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Ssharma in 2013, has been producing content for several platforms. They now appear to be on track for at least eight projects on Netflix and Amazon.
According to sources, Clean Slate Filmz plans to release eight films and series over the next 18 months as part of a massive $54 million deal with Amazon and Netflix (Rs. 405 crore approx). While the specifics of the projects are being kept under wraps, the production firm intends to continue producing engaging and clutter-busting content.
Chakda Xpress, starring Anushka Sharma and based on the life of cricketer Jhulan Goswami, is one of the projects set to release this year. It will be a Netflix picture, and the streaming giant has confirmed that three projects with the production house will be released.
Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Ssharma have produced films such as NH10, Phillauri, Pari, and, most recently, Paatal Lok on Amazon and Bulbbul on Netflix.
Talking about Anushka Sharma’s acting career, she made her acting debut in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), opposite Shah Rukh Khan, and came to popularity with leading roles in Yash Raj Films’ romances Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) and Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.
