The first teaser for the upcoming Amazon Video series “Call Me Bae,” which stars Ananya Panday, was posted on Insta on Thursday. Ananya Panday plays the “fashion expert” in the promo, which features snark with both her and Varun Dhawan about all things related to fashion and clothing. She gives Varun Dhawan a monologue a la Meryl Streep about the history of his boxers.
The streaming service posted a picture of the first episode of the show to Instagram with the statement, “ “@ananyapanday is the newest fashionista in the Primeverse, according to confirmed reports! Observe this initial glance and pay attention. New Series #CallMeBae is now filming!. Ananya cuts him off and tells him to call “ME” Bae instead because it’s her show and she plays a “total fashion expert.” Then Varun slyly remarks that just though she refers to fashion designer Manish Malhotra as her uncle, she is not a specialist in fashion!
The video got a variety of comments, with some praising the adorable banter between Ananya & Varun and others finding it incomprehensible that it was directly influenced by The Devil Wears Prada. Hehe this is so adorable and even our own prime bae is pretty adorable too, one comment read. Mr. Bae is indeed the super cute (red heart emoticons), another read. While some viewers responded very different on ‘Call me bae’ “Nahi, Just no. Take that conversation out of her mouth. The recently started filming of the next Amazon Original Series has not yet been given any additional information.
