At the Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards on Friday night, RRR took home four trophies. The action epic starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan won awards for Best Action Film, Best International Feature, Best Original Song, and Best Stunts. In his address, director SS Rajamouli discussed the importance of honoring stunt filmmakers at award ceremonies.
‘RRR’.
SS Rajamouli said in his speech following the Best Action Feature victory, “I believe I need to check backstage. After the second one, I believe I’ll already be developing wings! It signifies a lot to me. Thank you. I have no words to adequately convey how much it means.”
He went on, “We dedicate the Best stunt Award to the stunt coordinators. I really wish the stunt choreographers had been present to see this because I believe they are the crew that works so hard and risks their lives to entertain us. I’m going to use this as a chance to request that all the big awards create a new category just for the stunt performers—stunt choreographers are so deserving of it! This goes to all the stunt coordinators, not just in my nation but all over the world, who put in a lot of effort to keep us all entertained.”
After taking up the award for Best International Feature, Rajamouli joined Ram Charan on stage. The actor pledged to continue producing quality movies, and Rajamouli dedicated his honor to all of his fellow Indian filmmakers.
Fans’ aspirations for an Oscar are completely pinned on the victory. Now residing in Los Angeles, Team RRR will attend the Oscars on March 12. The RRR song Naatu Naatu has received an Oscar nomination in the category of Original Song. Naatu Naatu received the Best Original Song Golden Globe in January of this year.
The song Naatu Naatu from the film RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR won the award for Best Song. In a ceremony held in Los Angeles, it also won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
