Pooja Bhatt on her big-screen comeback with Chup:

Pooja Bhatt hasn’t been seen on the big screen in almost a decade, and her admirers have been dying to see her work on the silver screen. Pooja is preparing to take over the silver screen with R Balki’s Chup — Revenge of the Artist, after making a comeback in acting with the web series Bombay Begum last year. Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, and Shreya Dhanwanthary are expected to star in the psychological thriller.

Pooja is happy to return, but she believes this is the perfect time for actors of all shapes, sizes, and ages. “In this youth-obsessed people and industry, I feel glad to be able to play a role for big screens.” Otherwise, at 49, who gets to play such powerful characters? I think it’s fair to say that things are changing. Actors of all shapes, sizes, ages, and backgrounds should take advantage of this opportunity. Today’s heroes and heroines have many more options than they did in the 1990s when they had to appear and act a specific way. Traditional Bollywood was obsessed with youth, but OTT has done away with it. We now speak a new language thanks to the internet medium, and Bollywood needs to catch up.

Meanwhile, Pooja is gushing about R Balki, even describing him as a “great director.” “Everyone is familiar with Balki and the type of work he has done in the advertising business. He is noted for his attention to detail and aesthetics, as well as his distinct gaze. So, when this assignment came up, it was a no-brainer for me to say yes,” she continued. Pooja Bhatt is making a comeback on the big screen at a time when her younger sister Alia Bhatt is one of the industry’s biggest stars.

Pooja, on the other hand, being the adoring older sister that she is, praised the Raazi actress. “I really can’t endup Alia Bhatt’s career by saying anything within two sentences,” she said. I owe it to my younger sister and she is a better version of myself, to be fair to her. In a few lines, I can’t comment about her film work.”
