Sajid Wajid fame Sajid Khan has decided to give a small tribute to his late brother Wajid. Sajid has changed his surname to Wajid, who breathed his last in the year 2020.

Sajid-Wajid is one of the most popular music duos in industry. Sajid in the duo is the elder brother of the late Wajid Khan. They have worked on several hits like Welcome, Mashallah, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Hud Hud Dabang and the list goes on. With their work they were able to establish their names in Bollywood.

Last year on 1st June, the music industry got a huge blow after composer Wajid Khan died at the age of 42 due to COVID-19 complications. He was laid to rest at Versova cemetery. After his death Sajid Khan started working as a solo music producer.

Recently, Sajid, who is busy with the reality show Indian Pro Music League, informed that he has adapted Wajid’s name as his surname so that people still call him ‘Sajid Wajid.’

Sajid interacted with The Times Of India and announced that he has changed his surname. He said, “I don’t want people to call me Sajid Khan, so I have adopted Wajid as my surname. Now, my name is Sajid Wajid and that’s how it will be till the end. So what if he isn’t physically present, I feel his presence all the time. I have started composing tunes I never thought I would and I think it’s because of him. I feel that Wajid is with me during those times.”

Sajid also revealed that Bollywood megastar Salman Khan was huge support post Wajid’s demise.

He said, “After I lost him, I told Salman (Khan) bhai, ‘The day I feel I don’t have the fire in me, I will tell you that I am done’. He has been a great support and saw me through the difficult phase. The confidence I feel today and the fire inside me is burning even more.”

He recalled the memories of his brother and concluded by saying, “It is extremely difficult to fill that void.”

The popular duo made their debut back in the year 1999 with Salman Khan starrer Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya. The duo rose to fame after their musical hits in movies such as Partner, Kismat Konnection, Wanted, God Tussi Great Ho, Dabangg franchise got them love from the audience.
