Shekhar Kapur’s upcoming feature film, ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ has wrapped up its shooting in London. Film is an international project which stars Oscar winner Emma Thompson, Shabana Azmi, Lily James, Rob Brydon, Shazad Latif and Sajal Ali.

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur is returning to feature-length directorial with cross-cultural romantic comedy What’s Love Got To Do With It? after his 2007 Cate Blanchett-starrer drama Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

The movie has finally finished its shooting. Late Sunday evening, the 75 year old director took to social media and confirmed the news by tweeting, “Film wrapped ! #WhatsLoveGotToDoWithIt.”

The movie is set between London and South Asia and features Hollywood star Emma Thompson along with veteran Indian actor Shabana Azmi among others.

Mim Shaikh, London-based radio broadcaster and actor, took to the microblogging site and shared a picture from the film’s set and wrote, “That’s a wrap on #WhatsLoveGotToDoWithIt – can’t wait for you to watch this beautiful and intercross cultural movie we have shot over the past few weeks! Thank you to everyone.”

Few days back, actress Azmi revealed that Thompson who reportedly plays the role of actress Lily James in the movie, had finished shooting for her part. Azmi tweeted, “Its a wrap for #Emma Thompson. What a warm, generous co star she has been. I will cherish the wonderful times we spent together.”

‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ marks the first collaboration of Kapur and Azmi, since 1983’s acclaimed Hindi-language family drama Masoom. The film also stars Lily James of Baby Driver fame and Star Trek: Discovery actor Shazad Latif.

The upcoming feature film has been produced and written by Jemima Khan, who has earlier produced Ryan Murphy’s American Crime Story. Jemima has been sharing few behind the scenes photos on twitter.

The movie, which was announced last year is said to be a romantic comedy, with the themes of love and marriage in a cross-culture setting. It is based in  the UK and South Asia.
