Deadline has learnt that Marvel Studios has postponed filming on another planned project because of the studio’s Thunderbolts movie. That project was scheduled to begin shooting in Atlanta in three weeks. Insiders claim that the team was informed today that production will begin as soon as the strike was over. The action comes after Marvel delayed preliminary production for its Blade movie, which was scheduled to begin filming in June as well. The production company had also just been forced to discontinue filming on its TV programme Wonder Man, which was filming in Los Angeles it had stopped recently. It is intended to resume Wonder Man production as soon as the strike is over.
As the strike continues, however, it will be interesting to see whether additional studios decide to delay filming Thunderbolts and push movies until the conflict has been resolved. Due to the strike, the Lionsgate picture Good Fortune opted to halt production last week.
