Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari is all set to be seen in an upcoming Netflix anthology, Ajeeb Daastaans. The actress who plays a naive character as a married young woman says that her role felt like a challenge.
Aditi Rao Hydari awaits the release of, Ajeeb Daastaans which is a Netflix anthology of four stories and has been backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The actress will be featuring in one of the four stories in the movie. Neeraj Ghaywan’s film Geeli Puchhi will show Aditi essaying the role of a married young woman, Priya Sharma who sets on a journey of self discovery.
On April 15, Aditi gave a sneak peak into the life of her character, Priya and the bond that she shares with Konkana Sen Sharma, who plays Bharti. The story is about their unusual friendship of these two women who belong to contrasting backgrounds. The story highlights deep-rooted social issues in an extremely subtle manner.
Talking about her experience while shooting for a short movie for the first time, Aditi said, “This was not the kind of movie a director would call me for, it felt like a challenge and so I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and see if I could do it. In a situation like this, Neeraj was the best person to work with because of his sensitivity and knowledge about what he was making.”
Ajeeb Daastaans portrays strong characters trying to explore the dynamics of their relationship and follows a fresh storytelling technique. The film has been directed a team of exceptional directors such as Shashank Khaitan, Raj Mehta, Neeraj Ghaywan, and Kayoze Irani.
The show also boasts of a talented ensemble cast comprising of Fatima Sana Shaikh, Jaideep Ahlawat, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Abhishek Banerjee, Inayat Verma, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Shefali Shah, Manav Kaul, and Tota Roy Chowdhury.
The film is slated to release on April 16, 2021, only on Netflix.
Aditi Rao Hydari was last seen in Parineeti Chopra starrer ‘The Girl On The Train’. Aditi’s upcoming films also include the Tamil film Hey Sinamika and the bilingual Maha Samudram.
