International actor Anupam Kher won the Best Actor award at the New York City International Film Festival. He received the honour for his performance in the short film Happy Birthday. The film which was helmed by Prasad Kadam and bankrolled by FNP Media also featured Aahana Kumra.
On Thursday night, actor Anupam Kher took to twitter and shared the news of bagging the best actor award with his fans and followers. Kher informed that the short film Happy Birthday also won the Best Short Film award at the film festival.
While sharing the promo image of the film along with the tag of the Best Actor, he wrote, “Extremely happy to have won the #BestActor award at the #NYCIFF (New York City International Film Festival) for my short film #HappyBirthday. Also thrilled that it got the #BestFilm award too!! Thank you to the entire unit especially @AahanaKumra for their support!! Jai Ho!!”

Anupam’s friends and followers came together to wish him on his success. His wife actress Kirron Kher did not simply comment on his post to wish him on his victory. She shared the promo image and wrote, “Congratulations dear @anupampkher. Proud of you.”

The short film ‘Happy Birthday’ marked the second collaboration of Anupam and Aahana. Both the actors had previously joined hands in the 2019 film, The Accidental Prime Minister.
‘Happy Birthday’ revolves around a man who experiences numerous feelings and his attachment to the one thing he loves. The film was nominated at New York City International Film Festival in four categories – Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Short Film and Best Director. The film managed to bag two of the awards.
Anupam will be seen next in the political drama, The Kashmir Files and in Vivek Ranjan’s ‘The Last Show’.
