Director of upcoming family entertaining sports drama, Apne 2, Anil Sharma revealed that the shooting of the movie has been postponed. Sharma said that the decision was taken due to the huge spike in the Covid-19 cases in the country.
Apne 2 featuring Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol was announced by filmmaker Anil Sharma last year. According to the latest update, Sharma said that they have postponed the shooting of the film in April as amid the increasing corona cases their priority is Dharmendra’s health and not the completion of the film.
The director spoke to a news portal and said that they have not yet commenced shooting for the film. Hence, there is no point in clinging on to the scheduled Diwali release of the film. Initially, the team planned on shooting in Punjab in April, but due to the coronavirus situation in India, the makers have decided to first film in London starting July. They will be having a 45 day schedule in the country followed by schedules in Punjab and Mumbai.
Sharma informed that it will take another couple of months for theatres to reopen, and there is no point in completing the film now. The director stressed that the priority is Dharmendra’s health over releasing the film as scheduled.
Apne released in 2007 and featured Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol along with Kiron Kher, Shilpa Shetty, and Katrina Kaif. Apne 2 will see the terrific trio of Deols once again joining hands for a new journey. The movie will also star Sunny Deol’s elder son Karan Deol. This will be the first time that the three-generation of Deol family will be seen together in a movie.
Last year, Dharmendra said, “Apne is one of the best films of my life. A joint effort by the whole unit, received very well by you all. Now, I’m very happy because I will get to shoot Apne 2 with my entire family – my sons Sunny, Bobby, and my grandson Karan. It will be a very special film and I am looking forward to shooting.”
Soham Rockstar Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Presents “Apne 2” will be produced by Deepak Mukut.
