Shah Rukh Khan has made an official announcement about a forthcoming project titled, Darlings. The movie will be featuring Alia Bhatt Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew. Darlings will be produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Alia Bhatt’s newly announced Eternal Sunshine Productions.
Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment shared a video on its official twitter account and made the announcement of the upcoming film. King Khan retweeted Red chillies tweet and wrote, “Life is tough Darlings, but so are you….both! Unleashing our #Darlings onto the world….Caution is advisable. PS : yeh comedy thodi dark hai…”

‘Darlings’ is a dark comedy set in Mumbai against the backdrop of a conservative lower-middle-class neighbourhood. The movie is said to be an unique story of mother-daughter duo who go through crazy circumstances in order to find their place in the world. The film comes with a statutory warning – a reminder that offending women can be very dangerous for your health!
‘Darlings’ marks the directorial debut of Jasmeet K Reen and it will also mark Alia Bhatt’s first as she turns producer with Eternal Sunshine Productions.
Talking about her directorial debut, Jasmeet said, “With the brilliant Alia and Shefali portraying the mother-daughter duo, along with exceptionally talented Vijay (Varma) and Roshan (Mathew) we have a dream cast and the perfect ‘partners in crime’ if I can call them that. We couldn’t have asked for anything more and now I can’t wait to get on the floor!”
The producer and the main lead of the movie, Alia said, “I am really excited to be part of Darlings; it’s a powerful story with a lot of humour and doses of dark comedy. I am thrilled to have Darlings as my first film as a producer, that too in collaboration with my favourite, Shah Rukh Khan and Red Chillies.”

‘Darlings’ is written by Parveez Sheikh & Jasmeet and is being produced by Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt and Gaurav Verma. The film goes on floors this month.
