Ekta Kapoor’s web-series ‘Gandi Baat’ fame actress, Gehana Vasisth has been arrested by the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police, for her alleged role in shooting and uploading porn videos on a website. So far the Crime Branch has arrested 6 people including Gehana.
On Sunday, the property cell of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch will present television actress and model Gehana Vasisth infront of the court in a connection with an online pornographic racket. While searching a bungalow in Madh Island the police busted a live porn film making racket. They rescued one woman as well. It was later found that Gehana Vasisth had her own production house, where pornography videos were made and uploaded in the name of web series and serials.
On February 5, during a raid in Malad, the police received a tip-off. According to reports, police had received information that in some private bungalows of Mud Island, body trade and short porn videos are made under the guise of shooting the film. The police also received complaints from a few victims that they were forced into doing a role in porn videos. Based on the information, the police raided several bungalows, and rescued two more girls, who have now been sent to rehabilitation.
The police said that Gehana has shot for “87 obscene/porn videos and uploaded them on her website. On Saturday, the actress was called in by the police for investigations and was later arrested. As per police, Vasisth will be presented before the court on Sunday.
The 32 year old made headlines in 2019, when she fell unconscious on the sets while shooting for a web series at Madh Island. She was immediately rushed to the hospital as she suffered cardiac arrest resulting from a severe stroke and very low blood pressure.
Gehana’s work front
Speaking of Gehana Vasisth, her original name is Vandana Tiwari. She was born in Chirimiri, Chhattisgarh. The actress came into limelight after winning the title of Miss Asia Bikini. She played an important role in Ekta Kapoor’s Alt Balaji adult series ‘Gandi Baat’. Apart from the web series she featured in a lead role in the serial ‘Behenein’ on Star Plus. The actress appeared as VJ on True Life show on MTV India.
She was also a part of films like ‘Luckhnowi Ishq’, ‘Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai’. She has also done films in Telugu Industry.
Vasisth was an anchor for Cricket World Cup 2015 for a news channel along with Yograj Singh and Atul Wassan. She has done around 70 advertisements till now.
The police have also arrested a few models and side actresses in connection with the case.
