Salman Khan starrer Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai which is all set to release on 13th May has been modified by its makers. Latest updates reveals that after getting clearance certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the makers of Radhe voluntarily made some cuts in the movie.
The audience have always criticised CBFC for chopping off ‘objectionable’ scenes and thereby compromising on the freedom of expression of the filmmakers. But in the case of Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai, the CBFC did not axe scenes or dialogues in the Salman Khan starrer action thriller. The film certification board passed it without a cut.
However, after getting the certificate, the makers of the movie voluntarily made 21 cuts keeping in mind the audience.
A trade source said, “Lead actor Salman Khan and the makers felt that the film is a family entertainer. Although it’s coming on digital as well, many are going to watch it with their families in their homes. So they probably must have thought that it’s better to remove a few shots which might make the target audience uncomfortable.”
Talking about the shots that were cut, the source said, “So, a few shots of young boys consuming drugs have been removed. There’s a quick, one-second shot of a boy suffering from over consumption of drugs. Even this blink-and-miss shot was chopped off. Then, action shots at four places were deleted, possibly as it was a bit violent.”
Apart from the cuts, the makers added a five second city-wide shot in the end of the film.
According to one of the changes in the cut list, ‘Swacchh Mumbai’ has been replaced by ‘Swacchh Bharat’ and the ‘Jai Maharashtra’ dialogue was removed in the same dialogue.
Reacting on it, the source says, “Let’s not see these things out of context and try to create controversy. I am sure there’ll be a reason why the makers made these modifications and we’ll get the answer when we see the film on May 13.”
After the modifications, the duration of Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai changed from 117 minutes and 55 seconds to 114 minutes and 24 seconds. This means that the makers removed 3 minutes 31 seconds of shots from the movie.
Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai has been helmed by Prabhudeva, and stars Salman Khan, Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff. The film will have a cross-platform release on May 13.
