After an unexpected change of circumstances in the last ten days, Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala’s collaboration on Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali (retitled Bhaijaan) is in jeopardy. Sajid Nadiadwala has reportedly dropped out of this social satire at the last moment, and the venture has been taken up by Salman Khan’s production company, Salman Khan Films.
Following the outbreak of movies such as Baaghi 3, Tadap, and, more significantly, Bachchhan Paandey, Sajid Nadiadwala thought that the possibilities of Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali needed to be reconsidered. He planned to alter the budget, storyline, and even the entire setting of the movie, including central character casting. Salman, on the other hand, was enthusiastic about the screenplay and wanted to get it into production as quickly as possible. He didn’t believe there was any link between Sajid’s recent movie failures and Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. Salman had kept his date books open for this endeavour, a source revealed.
On the creative front, the duo weren’t on the same page. Salman believed Sajid had acquired cold feet and was not placing enough trust in the venture and his popularity, whilst Sajid believed Salman was taking the situation too lightly and that they may reconvene on a more appropriate topic later. There were also reservations about the project’s stability and revenue plan. After much deliberation, Sajid chose to step away from the whole thing and hand it over to Salman, the sources further added.
Salman was then eager to produce the picture under his own brand. Salman enlisted Sajid’s help in transferring the title and even bought the script from him. Under the banner of SKF, he is presently producing the picture. Sajid had begun work on a set in Mumbai’s Filmcity, which is currently being destroyed. Salman, on the other hand, has directed his crew to begin pre-production on Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali in Mumbai’s outskirts. Nadiadwala Grandson is not now affiliated with Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, but considering how quickly the industry’s dynamics change, and given Salman and Sajid’s 30-year friendship, things could change again.
The film will now begin production in May, with a start-to-finish timeline, and will be released on December 30th.
