On Wednesday, Legendary Punjabi singer Sardool Sikander passed away at Fortis hospital. He was admitted to the Fortis Hospital in Mohali.
On Wedneday, Punjabi Veteran Singer Sardool Sikander breathed his last in Fortis Hospital at the age of 60. According to a source, Sikander was admitted for over 15-20 days. The Punjabi folk singer was under treatment due to many health issues such as kidney damage, uncontrolled sugar, and multi-organism failure.
It was speculated that the singer died due to Corona. However the source made it very clear that Corona was not the reason of his death.
After the Sikander’s death came into news everyone started pouring condolences messages.
Chief Minister Amarinder Singh took to twitter and wrote, “Extremely saddened to learn of the demise of legendary Punjabi singer Sardool Sikander. He was recently diagnosed with #Covid19 and was undergoing treatment for the same. The world of Punjabi music is poorer today. My heartfelt condolences to his family and fans.”

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal also wrote on the micro blogging site, “Saddened to learn about the demise of legendary Punjabi playback singer Sardool Sikander. A huge loss to Punjabi movie & music Industry. Prayers for his family, friends & fans. May his soul rest in peace!.”
His admirers from the film industry also expressed their sadness on social media.
Singer and songwriter, Daler Mehandi wrote, “Bade dukh Di khabar Sardool Sikandar saheb nahi rahe big loss our family and music Industry.”

Singer Harshdeep Kaur expressed anguish at the sad demise of Sikander and tweeted, “Bahut hi dukhad khabar… Saddened to hear about the demise of legendary Punjabi singer Sardool Sikander Ji. Huge loss to the music Industry. Prayers for his family.”
Sardool Sikander was born in Kheri Naudh Singh in Fatehgarh sahib district. He made his first appearances on radio and television in the early 1980s. His introductory album was ‘Roadways di Laari’. The singer belonged to the Patiala gharana of music and had 27 albums to his credit.
He acted in Punjabi films like ‘Jagga Daku’. In 1995, his album ‘Husna de Malko’ released and it sold 5.1 million copies worldwide.
His father, late Sagar Mastana, was a famous tabla player. The Pop singer was the son of late Sagar Mastana, who was a very famous tabla player. Mastana invented a special type of tabla that was played with a thin bamboo stick. Sikander was married to an accomplished singer and actress, Amar Noorie.
Sikander Sardool’s elder brother Ustad Bharpoor Ali also passed away last year in July.
Sikander leaves behind Noorie, his wife and sons Sarang and Alaap.
