Bollywood actress Vidya Balan who is basking in the success of her film ‘Sherni’ is all set to move on to her next film. The actress will now be sharing screen space with actress Shefali Shah in forthcoming thriller ‘Jalsa’.
Actress Vidya Balan who won everyone’s heart with her outstanding performance in recently released Amazon Prime Video film Sherni. The actress played an impactful role of a forest officer in the critically-acclaimed wildlife drama. According to latest update, Vidya is ready for her next project with producer Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment.
In May this year, it was revealed that Vidya will be working with Tumhari Sulu director Suresh Triveni’s next drama which also features Shefali Shah. Latest reports say that Vidya and Shefali’s maiden collaboration has been titled Jalsa. The makers have locked this title as it perfectly fits in the storyline.
The sources had made it very clear that the name of the movie has nothing to do with Amitabh Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow with the same name.
Jalsa will be a drama thriller about class differences in society. The movie will show Vidya and Shefali in the central roles coming from two different backgrounds. The two powerhouses of talents will join hands for the very first time. Written by Suresh Triveni along with multiple writers, the film is expected to go on floors in September in Mumbai.
The pre-production has been started and the makers are currently waiting for Shefali’s dates as she is expected to wrap Alia Bhatt starrer Darlings and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Doctor G before starting to shoot for Jalsa.
On the other hand, Vidya has signed Atul Kasbekar led Ellipsis Entertainment’s next rom-com. The movie will see her alongside Scam 1992 fame Pratik Gandhi.
