Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi has been postponed after the actress caught COVID-19. Though, the actress has recovered from the disease, however, both the actors are currently, busy shooting for other projects.
Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi is all set to feature in his second Hindi film titled ‘Merry Christmas’ opposite bollywood actress Katrina Kaif. The shooting of the movie which will be helmed by Andhadhun fame director Sriram Raghavan was expected to begin on 15th April. The filmmaker had planned a marathon schedule in Mumbai with his entire cast. But according to latest reports, the shoot of this much awaited film has been indefinitely postponed.
The film could not go on floors in April since Katrina Kaif contracted Covid and was down for most part of the month. Even though, Katrina has recovered from the virus, she is currently busy with her other film commitments.
‘Merry Christmas’ will now start its shoot in Mid-May. A source revealed, “All the ground work and pre-production is completed and the team now awaited a go ahead from the government to start their shoot. The film will kick off around May 15, in Mumbai with Katrina and Vijay. Most of the film will be shot in the city, followed by brief schedules in Pune and Goa.”
The film will be shot over a period of next four months. Katrina will be juggling between the shoot of Merry Christmas and Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3. Source said, “She will wrap up both the films by the month of September and then commence shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar’s superhero film, Super Soldier.”
Meanwhile, Vijay has half a dozen of Tamil films in the pipeline. One of his forthcoming film is ‘Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ directed by Vignesh Shivan starring Nayanthara and Samantha in the lead. He will soon start shooting for Raj and DK’s web series also starring Shahid Kapoor and Raashi Khanna from May.
