Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur are poised to work together once again for the rendition of the 1996 novel The Night Manager. They were last seen together in Malang. The show will premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar, a major OTT platform, and will include Sobhita Dhulipala in a key role. The mystery thriller, which was also mainly shot in Sri Lanka, has been given a name and is now known as Captain.
Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, along with Sobhita Dhulipala, were spotted filming The Night Manager adaptation in Sri Lanka earlier this year. While the remake was unveiled in 2021, production on the show started in 2022. It’s worth noting that Captain isn’t the only show’s adaptation. The Night Manager was made into a British television show with the same name in 2016, starring Marvel’s Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hollander, Hugh Laurie, and Elizabeth Debicki, among many others. While Aditya will portray Jonathan Pine, a character played by Tom Hiddleston, Anil will portray an arms dealer portrayed by Hugh Laurie, and Sobhita will portray Elizabeth Debicki.
Captain, helmed by Sandeep Modi, is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar in 2023. Preity Zinta and Banijay Asia are the show’s producers. Coming back to work, Anil Kapoor will next appear in the movie Jug Jugg Jeeyo, a movie that also stars Neetu Kapoor, Kiara Advani, and Varun Dhawan. Next week, on June 24, it will be released. Aditya Roy Kapur, on the other hand, will be featured in Rashtra Kavach Om, a movie starring Sanjana Sanghi. It will be available on July 1st. He is also gonna appear in upcoming ventures ‘Gumraah’ alongside Mrunal Thakur.
