Many Bollywood stars are getting ready to join the bandwagon of actors who have explored the popular OTT arena after stunning everyone with their power-packed performances on the silver screen. Here’s a list of performers who will make their long-awaited digital debut in 2022, ranging from Shahid Kapoor to Juhi Chawla.
Shahid Kapoor:
While we all wait for Shahid Kapoor’s much-anticipated film, ‘Jersey,’ his next web series has kept his fans on the edge of their seats. Raj & DK’s untitled drama-thriller will be the superstar’s first excursion into the OTT space. Like past works by the young filmmakers, the series will be dark and contain keen humour. Sita R Menon, Suman Kumar, and Hussain Dalal are said to have co-written the show.
Sonakshi Sinha:
Sonakshi Sinha, the ‘Dabangg’ lady from Bollywood, has been cast in a new web series called ‘Fallen.’ According to reports, the series is based on the true story of a Kerala man who has been charged with several counts of wedding fraud and robbery. The drama will be directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi and will star performers like Vijay Varma and Gulshan Devaiah.
Fatima Sana Shaikh:
Fatima Sana Shaikh is set to star in a forthcoming anthology that would be an official Hindi rendition of the renowned American television show “Modern Love.” Hansal Mehta, Vishal Bhardwaj, Anjali Menon, Alankrita Shrivastava, Dhruv Sehgal, and Shonali Bose are among the directors who have contributed to the Indian series.
Aditya Roy Kapoor:
While preparing for his upcoming feature, ‘Om: The Battle Within,’ Aditya Roy Kapur is also gearing up for his digital debut this year. According to reports, the show is an authentic Hindi copy of the iconic Hollywood series ‘The Night Master.’ It also features major performances by Anil Kapoor and Sobhita Dhulipala. An undercover agent and a hidden armaments dealer engage in a cat-and-mouse chase in this espionage thriller.
Juhi Chawla:
Juhi Chawla is poised to make her web series debut with ‘Hush Hush,’ after wowing everyone with her last release, ‘Sharmaji Namkeen,’ which also starred late Rishi Kapoor. The suspense drama also stars Aayesh Jhulka, who rose to fame in the 90s. According to reports, the show will promote the idea of women telling their own stories by focusing on a female perspective.
