Shah Rukh Khan will begin filming Rajkumar Hirani’s immigration drama today, following the completion of Atlee’s commercial entertainer yesterday. According to a source informed, Hirani began filming the film with actress Taapsee Pannu on Friday, April 15. Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, arrived in the evening to greet the team. He will begin working with the crew today, April 16, at a Mumbai studio. The production team also erected a set of a Punjab village, according to the sources. The cast and crew will apparently shoot for the next two weeks at this site. Hirani will shoot in several sections of Mumbai before going to London and Budapest for an outdoor schedule.
This is the first film in which Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu would share screen space. However, no official confirmation or statement has yet been made.
In addition to SRK, South starlet Nayanthara and Bollywood actress Sanya Malhotra play major roles in SRK’s next film with Atlee. Aside from these projects, Shah Rukh will appear in Siddharth Anand’s ‘Pathan.’ Deepika Padukone and John Abraham will play the key characters in the much-anticipated spy thriller.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh plays both a father and a son in Atlee’s film, which is reportedly produced by Red Chillies Entertainment. As per the sources, Atlee’s movie would show Shah Rukh Khan undertaking a double role again after Duplicate and Don, but this time with a twist, the sources claimed. While one of Shah Rukh’s characters is a mobster, the other is his father, a top RAW agent on a mission to apprehend him. The plot is similar to Ramesh Sippy’s Shakti (1982), in which a former police commissioner (Dilip Kumar) pursues his own son, a mobster (Amitabh Bachchan). But it’s a very different story in Atlee’s film, with SRK playing a father and son duo.
