Gangubai Kathiawadi will have five screenings at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival
The trailer of Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi has been released, and it has received a positive response from the audience. The movie, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is about a prostitute who became a champion of female freedom in Mumbai half a decade ago. The trailer suggests that the film is lighthearted and entertaining, but it also addresses some serious problems. It’s no surprise that it was chosen for the Berlinale Special event at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival. In a nutshell, the movie will be shown for the first time at this popular event.

It has also been discovered that Gangubai Kathiawadi runs for 152 minutes, or 2 hours and 32 minutes.
While this is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first picture to launch at the famous Berlin International Film Festival, Alia Bhatt’s third film has been presented at the German city’s carnival. Highway (2014), her second picture, premiered at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival in the Panorama category. Gully Boy (2019) was screened in the Berlinale Special section with Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Highway and Gully Boy, both of which were released in February, were key films in Alia Bhatt’s career. It remains to be seen if Gangubai Kathiawadi, which will be released on February 25, will be a critical and economic triumph.
