In the teaser for Shah Rukh Khan’s next flick Dunki, Taapsee Pannu plays the female protagonist. The preview featured SRK and Rajkumar Hirani engaging in some type of playful banter. As you are aware, the movie has begun production, and it appears that the first schedule is complete. However, did you know that the movie experienced a little snag when its DOP (Director of Photography/Cinematographer), Amit Roy, left the crew?
Amit Roy, who has filmed movies including “Love Aajkal 2,” “Sarkar,” and “Sarkar Raj,” “Yes, I’ve stopped playing Dunki. After 18–19 days of shooting, I stopped. I had a few creative issues with Raju Hirani. Both of us were unable to see at the same time. However, I must say that we parted on extremely good terms. I left after we both sat down. I really didn’t want things to get to the point of tension.”
Roy went on to say that he much respects Hirani and that it is terrible that they couldn’t come to an agreement. “Sometimes it does. I recorded the song “Baba Bolta Hai Bas Ho Gaya” for Hirani in the movie “Sanju.” Then, we had a lot of fun. I’ve also created a couple advertisements for him. But as you can see, creating an advertisement is a team effort in which the client’s concept is important. But the director’s vision is what matters when it comes to a movie.”
Will Roy’s sequences be used as-is or reshot? They will be kept, Roy replied.
Rumour has it that Pankaj was brought in as a temporary solution when Roy left. After Pankaj, C K Muraleedharan took over, affectionately known as Murli in the movie industry, Murli has collaborated with Hirani on “PK,” “3 Idiots,” and “Lage Raho Munna Bhai.”
As of now, Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu is all set for their next scheduled in London and Europe.
