Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has still been a mystery for many and Rhea Chakraborty alongwith Showik Chakraborty have been into the suspect’s radar. However the two were released after several rounds of questioning. Recently, The Narcotics Control Bureau has accused actress Rhea Chakraborty of purchasing and paying for marijuana for her deceased actor boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. Chakraborty, her brother, and 33 other people have been charged in the well-known narcotics case by the NCB. Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty have both been accused of financing and buying a minor amount of marijuana.
According to the NCB’s charge sheet, “Rhea Chakroborty got many ganja deliveries from accused Samuel Miranda, Showik, Dipesh Sawant, and others and forwarded those supplies to the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.” Between March 2020 and September, she is accused of paying for the dugs via her brother Showik and Sushant Singh. Rhea Chakraborty can be detained and would be put behind the bars for atleast 10 years if found guilty.According to the draught allegations, Showik, Rhea’s brother, frequently communicated with drug dealers and collected many supplies of ganja and hashish/charas that were later given to Rajput. Draft charges are filed, setting the stage for charge formulation and the start of the trial. However, the court must first deliberate on the accused’s discharge pleas before charging anyone. The case has been scheduled for hearing on July 27 before Special Judge V G Raghuwanshi, who handles matters involving the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Following the unfortunate passing of Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14, 2020, the NCB first started looking into allegations of drug abuse in the film and television business. Chakraborty was detained in connection with the case in September 2020, and the Bombay High Court granted her bail a month later. Since the high-profile drug case began, the NCB has summoned several stars for questioning, including Deepika Padukone, Rakul Preet Singh, and Sara Ali Khan.
